How FindAStack works — what a stack is, what it costs, and how to make it your own.
What is FindAStack?
FindAStack is a free directory of useful tools, with free options first. Search by tool name or task, filter by category and pricing, and explore small groups of tools that work toward a specific goal.
What do the pricing labels mean?
Free means the software or service is available without a software fee; hosting or other services may still cost extra. Free plan means an ongoing plan with limits. Free trial is temporary. Paid includes transaction fees even when there is no monthly subscription. Check pricing means we have not reviewed a pricing record yet. Each reviewed tool shows when its pricing was last checked.
How are tools ordered?
The default puts ongoing free options first, followed by tools without a free option. Within the free group, a small editorial selection of starting points appears first, followed by tools in name order. Searches favor matching tool names within each group. You can also sort everything alphabetically. Affiliate commissions and sponsored listings do not affect this order.
What is a stack?
A stack is a curated bundle of tools built around a single goal, like collecting waitlist emails or accepting online payments. Each stack lists the tools, what each one does, how they integrate, an estimated monthly cost, and a setup checklist with direct links.
How much does a stack cost to run?
Costs depend on the tools, usage, and features you need. Our calculators show estimates and assumptions. Free plans may have limits, and payments, hosting, or extra usage can cost money.
Can I swap a tool for something else?
Yes. Each stack is a recommended starting point — swap in any alternative you already use. The setup guide shows the integration points so you know what to rebuild.
How long does setup take?
Setup time depends on the task and your experience. Use the guide to check the prerequisites, follow the steps, and test the result. We do not promise a fixed completion time.
Is FindAStack free to use?
Yes — browsing stacks, tools, and setup guides is completely free. You only pay for the third-party tools you choose to use.
How does FindAStack make money?
Some outbound tool links are affiliate links: if you sign up for a tool through one, the tool may pay FindAStack a commission. It costs you nothing extra, pages with affiliate links say so, and commissions never decide which tools we recommend.
Can I get my tool listed on FindAStack?
You can suggest a tool or stack for free through the Suggest page. Every submission is editorially reviewed, and we only add tools that genuinely fit a useful stack.
How are stacks chosen?
Each stack is hand-picked to solve a specific goal with tools that work well together and that small teams can adopt quickly, favoring options with a free or low-cost tier.
How do I suggest a stack or tool?
Use the Suggest a stack page to propose a goal and the tools that solve it. If it fits, we'll build it out with a setup guide and add it to the library.
